The Friends new home……

Daniel O’Kelly BPS Project Co-ordinator and Anne King President FBBG inside  plus Judith Bailey FBBG Project Co-ordinator outside.

The Buninyong Primary School (BPS) and Friends of Buninyong Botanic Gardens (FBBG) are very excited about our new partnership in restoring this important historical community facility. The BPS have been working towards restoration of the building with many people contributing. The FBBG have come on board with a commitment of $5000 to go towards the restoration and  the City of Ballarat Impact Grant has provided a further $10,000 funding which will see the project completed by the end of 2015.
The FBBG currently have no home and this facility, adjacent to the Buninyong Gardens, is an ideally placed home for the FBBG and our proposed nursery.
The FBBG will contribute from funds raised, to the ongoing maintenance of the building into the future, so that the project becomes self sustaining.

The FBBG will have a base from which to work:

• FBBG to host activities including: committee and public meetings, fund raising events, plant propagation and nursery sales,
lectures and seminars, musical events, arts events, supporting school and festival events, and educational programs.

BPS activities will include:

• BPS will run programs for Literacy & Numeracy Intervention.
• BPS Arts Activities – Instrumental Tuition – Drums, Keyboard, Guitar, Brass.

and Buninyong and District Historical Society (BDHS) will provide educational sessions and
exhibitions for the students and community.

Together we look forward to a rewarding partnership which will benefit the school and broader community.
